Premier Success for Northern Meteor and Sebring

 In 2015

The 2015 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale produced some strong results with particular demand for yearlings from the last crop of our ill-fated champion sire Northern Meteor.

$420,000 Northern Meteor filly from Ryzhkina (IRE)

Northern Meteor was fourth on the sire averages with 10 yearlings averaging $171,500, his top seller a strongly built chestnut filly from Ryzkhina (IRE) that made $420,000 for Woodside Park when bought by Kitchwin Hills.

The filly comes with an impressive international pedigree as she is the first foal of an unraced Storm Cat mare from Group III winning Sadler’s Wells mare Lucky, who is a sister to dual Group I winner King of Kings.

Ryzkhina was one of 185 mares covered by Widden Stud’s exciting Northern Meteor son Zoustar last year in his first season at stud.

He is now in Victoria at Woodside Park as he will cover his second book of mares in Victoria and you can bet Ryzkhina will be a return booking!

Sebring also made his mark at Premier with a colt from Turnstiles that made $200,000 for Edinburgh Park when bought by Clinton McDonald Racing.

The colt is bred on the exact same cross as four-time Group I winner Dissident and his Anabaa (USA) dam Turnstiles was one of 192 mares covered by Sebring last spring.
